Diary of a Fangirl: Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise is one of my favorites actors.

He charmed in "Jerry Maguire," seduced in "Interview with the vampire," intimidated us in "Collateral," made us laugh our asses off in "Tropic Thunder"--

Was enticingly sexy and only one of two reasons to even see "Rock of Ages" [Alec Baldwin coupled with Russel Brand was the other reason], and starred in a bunch of other movies I love (i.e. "Minority Report," "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol," "Knight and Day" where he was totes adorable, "The Last Samurai," "A Few Good Men," "Far & Away" and others).  And apparently, he's going to be in "Top Gun 2."

And to top it all off, I've heard nothing but wonderful things about him while on set.  He's great to work with and a generally great human being.  That's something that can't be said about a lot of actors in the industry, and a lot of them don't even have the pull that Cruise has.

Connor, looking like a black Tom Cruise.

He also seems to be a great and loving dad, which puts him in the trifecta of awesome range--ridiculously good looking (he and Naomi Campbell have scientifically perfect bone structure according to the Golden Ratio, a derivative of the Fibonacci sequence) with a full head of hair, great person and great dad.  So of course, he'd be short, but still, a lot of great qualities there!

I know he gets a lot of flack because of his religion, and particularly so this week.  But that isn't what this post is about, and frankly I don't care.  That does not take away his quality as an actor, or his goodness as a human being.  Maybe you don't want to date him, but that doesn't mean he's bad to work with or have a drink with.

Cheers to you, Tom!
